God's favor has been upon Sulphur Baptist Church since its founding on November 4, 1884. The church, in the power of the Holy Spirit, has been loving and serving the Sulphur community and discipling loving followers of Jesus whose lives are sold out to the Lord for 142 years.

Pastor David Durland and his bride Carissa have been married 22 years and have 4 grown children. David attends The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he is studying for his Masters of Divinity degree.
